In August 1977, strange things started to happen in a quiet north London suburb. This unusual, terrifying activity, centred on 11-year-old Janet Hodgson, lasted several months and became known as the Enfield Poltergeist.

Among those who witnessed this apparently paranormal activity were journalists and the police. Some of the evidence is controversial. But 30 years on it remains the best-documented and most puzzling case of its kind, and may be the first time that a spirit voice has been captured on tape.

Interview with a Poltergeist examines the evidence, with contributions from many of those who witnessed events, including Janet, journalists and the paranormal investigators from the Society for Psychical Research who camped out in the Hodgson home. It also features the case against a paranormal explanation.

Funny how this was around the time when the exorcist movies were big and the same year when exorcist 2 was released. 1970s was the decade when people were fascinated when the paranormal and it was pretty big at the box office too. This might just have been an elaborate hoax.

All that stuff happened and no one thought to video tape the house? I think they had video in 1977 I could be wrong.

you make a VERY good point! I think nowadays there's no way something like this would fly without any kind of video evidence.
Though that voice is pretty dang creepy, Ghost Hunters has caught many voices that are just as creepy, but they have the video evidence to show where/how/etc. that the audio was captured.
